The Institute of Photochemistry and Photofunctional Materials is an international research and development institution, led by Academician Akira Fujishima, the co-discoverer of Honda-Fujishima effect. Positions:
Distinguished Professor
Location: Shanghai, China
Contract type: Fixed-term, 6 years, eligible for renewal
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Act as an outstanding PI to lead the team in conducting international frontier scientific research in photocatalysis and related fields.
2. Lead the institute to carry out strategic research layout and project work
3. Carry out applied basic science research or applied technology research.
4. Engage in academic activities to enhance the international influence of the institute.
5. Responsible for the training of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in accordance with the job regulations of the university.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience as a professor or associate professor in the fields of materials science, chemical engineering, or energy and environmental sciences at leading universities, or a track record of serving as a research and development leader in relevant international companies or research institutions.
2. For university faculty members: have representative papers published in internationally recognized high-impact academic journals, or undertaken the role of project leader for two or more national-level research projects.
3. For corporate professionals: hold the position of the main inventor with authorization for two or more internationally and nationally representative invention patents.
4. Priority given to individuals who have received national or international scientific and technological awards.
5. Age criteria: University faculty members should be under the age of 55, and corporate professionals should be under the age of 60.
6. Proficiency in English reading, writing, and communication skills is a prerequisite.
7. Commitment to research integrity, excellent communication skills, and a strong spirit of teamwork are essential qualities.
Salary:
Annual income: ¥1,500,000-¥2,000,000 plus performance reward
The compensation includes salary, housing allowance, medical insurance, and reimbursement of actual expenses for three round-trip air tickets annually. Hold a Ph.D. degree in related disciplines such as materials science and engineering, environmental science and engineering, chemistry and chemical engineering, biomedical sciences from domestic or foreign universities or research institutions. Professionals from corporate backgrounds should have a minimum of a master's degree.
3. For university faculty members: have representative papers published in internationally recognized academic journals, or undertaken the role of project leader for one or more national-level research projects.
4. For corporate professionals: hold the position of the main inventor with authorization for two or more internationally and nationally representative invention patents.
